Your Rising sign (also called the Ascendant) is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the exact moment of your birth. It changes roughly every two hours, making it the most time-sensitive point in your chart. The Rising sign shapes your outer personality — how you appear to others, your physical presence, and your instinctive approach to new situations.
Why do I need my birth time?
Unlike the Sun or Moon, the Rising sign cannot be calculated without an accurate birth time. Since it moves through all 12 signs every 24 hours (roughly one sign every 2 hours), even a 30-minute difference can change your Rising sign. If you don't know your birth time, check your birth certificate or ask a parent — it's usually recorded.
